Case IH has announced a package of technology, connectivity, grain-handling, and cab updates for its Axial-Flow 160 Series of combine harvesters. The Class 6 and Class 7 machines build on the 2024 launch of the Axial-Flow 160 family, when Case IH brought Harvest Command combine automation from its top models into its midrange segment.

With the model year 2027 update, Case IH is adding more factory precision technology to a combine size class suitable for a broad gamut of farm sizes.

Pro 1200 Displays & Precision Farming Updates

The upgraded Axial-Flow 160 series cabin features two Pro 1200 displays for machine control and agronomic data, respectively. The tablet-like touchscreens support multi-touch controls and have customisable layouts. Remote Display Viewing lets staff monitor and support the combine while in operation, while the machine’s diagnostics aim to provide more advanced notice when service is required.

Precision farming upgrades include the new Vector Pro receiver for improved guidance accuracy, even in difficult field conditions. Case IH’s Connectivity Included feature means the modem won’t require a subscription to connect over its service life. AccuSync technology shares data among multiple machines, while AccuTurn automates turnarounds in the headlands.

    Axial-Flow 160 Harvesting Improvements

Case IH has also updated the combine series’ harvesting systems for better efficiency and crop quality. A new, independent cross-auger clutch helps to empty the unloading auger and reduce grain loss when unloading on the move.

A two-speed feeder drive option supports crop flow in a variety of conditions, as a new concave shape helps high-moisture crops move along. Improved sensors monitor machine operations more precisely.

    Axial-Flow 160 Cab Visibility & Comfort

The cab now follows the Axial-Flow 260 series’ design and architecture, with a refreshed interior, a more ergonomic layout, enhanced air-conditioning airflow management, and extra camera inputs.

“With the latest updates to the Axial-Flow 160 series, we are bringing advanced automation, connectivity, and operator experience into the midrange segment,” says Andreas Saile, EMEA product manager Harvesting. “These combines continue to embody the simplicity of Axial-Flow design while integrating the technologies needed to maximise productivity, crop quality, and return on investment for today’s farmers.”

Series production is scheduled to begin in July 2026, with first customer deliveries expected by the end of the third quarter. The updated combines are due to make their first major expo appearance in Bologna, Italy, at EIMA, the International Agricultural and Gardening Machinery Exhibition, this November.
